Where it is
Thảo Điền is on the east bank of the Saigon River. It used to be a ward of District 2 (Quận 2) and then of Thủ Đức city. Since 1 July 2025 it has been part of An Khánh ward, together with Thủ Thiêm, An Lợi Đông and An Khánh. Listings still say "Thảo Điền" and "District 2".
Metro
Metro line 1 (Bến Thành — Suối Tiên) has two elevated stations here: Thảo Điền and An Phú.
